Poppyseed Bread
3 Beaten eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. oil
Mix together.
Add:
3 C. flour
1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
Add alternately with flour:
1 1/2 c. milk
3 Tbsp. poppyseeds
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. butter flavor
2 tsp. almond flavor
Makes 2 large loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Or makes 7-8 small pans if doubled at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. small loaf serves 10-12 without ends.
Glaze:
Cool bread slightly.
1/4 c. orange juice
3/4 c. sugar
Heat to dissolve.
Add:
1/2 tsp. butter flavor
1/2 tsp. almond flavor
1/2 tsp. vanilla
If too runny add a little powdered sugar. Drip over top of bread w/wax paper underneath.
